Struck from two ounces of 999.9 silver with a weight of 62.2 grams, this edition appears in reverse proof and ultra high relief. The latter designation stands for a particularly raised relief in which the motif projects far out of the surface.

The diameter of 40.90 millimeters distributes the double ounce across a format that makes the striking noticeably more substantial than a single ounce coin. Two ounces of silver bring corresponding presence, which becomes apparent the moment the piece is held.

Motif and Design

The reverse shows the heads and upper neck sections of two eagles in profile, both turned to the right. In front stands the wedge-tailed eagle with finely drawn head and nape plumage, while behind it a second eagle head emerges, distinguished from the front bird by a smoother crown and a powerful hooked beak.

Both birds are finished in 24 carat gold and thereby detach themselves clearly from the silver field. The outer rim carries this gilding as well, framing the image and producing a consistently high-contrast impression.

Running around the design are the inscriptions AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE in the upper arc and 2026 2oz 9999 SILVER in the lower one. To the right of the eagle heads sits the traditional P mintmark of The Perth Mint.

The design was once again created in collaboration with the renowned US engraver John M. Mercanti. The obverse presents the portrait of King Charles III.
